Pace, Moderation, and the Choices We Make

Pace, Moderation, and the Choices We Make

January has a way of slowing us down.

After the noise, the excess, and the celebrations, there’s usually a quieter moment, one where we start asking questions:

How do I want to feel this year?
What actually adds value to my life?

And what could I do differently, without losing what I enjoy?

For me, that reflection has led to one word: moderation.

A life surrounded by beer

My entire professional life has been spent in breweries.
Brewhouses, cellars, taprooms, festivals:  beer has always been my craft, my culture, and my environment.

And with that comes something people rarely talk about: constant availability.

A couple of beers after work. Tastings that turn into pints. Celebrations that quietly become routine. In brewing culture, that’s normal, almost expected.

For a long time, I didn’t question it.

But life evolves.

Becoming a founder changes your relationship with pressure.
Becoming a parent changes your relationship with time, energy, and responsibility.

At some point, I realized I didn’t need alcohol as often as I thought , but I still wanted the moments around beer.

Moderation isn’t about giving things up

For me, moderation isn’t about restriction.
It’s about intention.

I still love opening a beer after work.
I still love bitterness, aroma, balance, and a clean finish.
I still love sharing a drink with friends and celebrating small wins.

Well, I still love beer.

What I don’t always need is alcohol.

Pace as a tool for modern life

Pace was never designed as a compromise.
It was designed as a tool.

A way to keep:

  • Cheers without second thoughts

  • Social moments without limits

  • Driving without 2nd thoughts or bad decision.

  • Training and recovery without regret

Pace fits a modern lifestyle,  one where balance matters, where enjoyment doesn’t need a trade-off, and where beer can still belong without alcohol standing in the way.

It’s a real IPA, brewed with care and intention, made for moments that extend beyond the glass.

My own journey of moderation

Personally, Pace is part of a wider shift in my life.

Drinking less alcohol.
Being more present.
Recovering better.
Still enjoying the ritual, the flavor, and the pleasure of beer.

Moderation isn’t a trend.
It’s a reflection of how many of us live today.

And Pace exists for those moments where you want the taste, the craft, and the cheers without compromising what comes next.

This January, I’m choosing balance.

Cheers,
David
